Sundaze: GF decided to check on the day of the week that Annual Business Meetings have been held. We can verify back only to 1973. From that date through 1998, the ABM was held on Sunday morning of the Annual Gathering, allowing members who could not arrive until the weekend to participate. The ABM was moved to an earlier day in 1999 to allow Dave Remine, then Chairman of AML, to become International Chairman. Our Constitution prohibits any sitting National Chairman from holding office as International Chairman. An AMC chairmanship does not end until the ABM is adjourned, and a Sunday ABM meant the international and national terms would overlap. Rather than Remine resigning his American chairmanship a day early, the ABM was held early in 1999 but has not been returned to Sunday. Passing Out: We're drinking in the good wishes of our readers and would like to share it with even more people. Requests for subscriptions come from word-of-mouth recommendations. "Res est ingeniosa dare"To give is a thing that requires genius, at least according to Ovid. So go ahead, be a genius and pass out give a copy of Going Forward to a fellow Mensan. Oyez, Oyez: The hearing concerning Carole Bell did take place on April 20, but no decision has been released to the membership yet. If a sanction of suspension or expulsion has been imposed, the AMC will vote on the matter at its meeting during the AG.
