Dear Readers . . .

First, let us say "thank you" to all of you for your support of Going Forward — your comments, your critiques, your word-of-mouth, your articles. We can honestly say that without you, we're nothing; but with you, we're providing thoughtful comment on Mensa's issues of the day and thought-provoking suggestions for Mensa's improvement.

Many of you have been generous enough to show your support by contributing funds to offset the costs of printing and mailing Going Forward. To those of you who have been able to donate, we'd like to offer an extra "thank you," along with the hope that you think we've been using your money wisely.

Going Forward is to other Mensa publications as public broadcasting is to commercial broadcasting, in that we depend on the contributions of "viewers like you." Going Forward does not receive funds from any Mensa entity — not from local groups, not from American Mensa, and not from Mensa International. Nor does Going Forward accept advertising revenue as the Mensa Bulletin does. Our funding, to a large extent, depends on our readers' generous support.

Like public broadcasting, we are not going to cut off your access to what we feel is some of the best writing on serious issues within Mensa if you don't contribute. All we ask is that you contribute what you can when you can. And unlike public broadcasting, we're not going to interrupt your reading three or four times a year to ask!
